Donald Trump wrongly stated that the 100,000 people who went to his rally in New Jersey couldn't protest his trial because of heavy security outside the courthouse

Trump lamented that the 100,000 rally goers who attended his weekend event in Wildwood, New Jersey aren’t protesting his hush money trial in Lower Manhattan.

Former President Donald Trump regretted that the 100,000 rallygoers who attended his weekend event in Wildwood, New Jersey aren’t protesting his hush money trial in Lower Manhattan.

As Senators JD Vance and Tommy Tuberville was present at the event when Trump inaccurately described Lower Manhattan as an “armed camp” and blamed that for the reason why so few pro-Trump protestors have shown up on his behalf.

Before the expected bombshell testimony of former fixer-turned-vocal critic Michael Cohen, the former president offered the same bromides of a corrupt judge and Fox News contributors who agree with him, before turning to the security surrounding him.

“Because what this judge is getting away with is disgraceful, including the fact that we have thousands of people and 100,000 people in New Jersey. They would like to show their support,” Trump offered. “It’s like an armed camp outside. You can’t get one person within three blocks of this courthouse.”

The area surrounding the courthouse where Trump’s criminal trial for alleged election fraud is taking place is not heavily fortified like an armed camp.

There is There is some security in the few blocks surrounding the courthouses in that part of New York City, but the area is easily accessible by subway, car, or even by foot. I have — foolishly, I might add — driven through the area where the trial takes place and had zero problems getting through, apart from typical traffic issues. As Trump finished speaking, a reporter could be heard yelling, “Why Hannibal Lecter?” whom Trump jokingly labeled a “great man” during his weekend rally.
