After waiting a few extra days, the Colorado Avalanche has finally found out who they'll play in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs: the Central Division champion Dallas Stars.
The Stars sealed their spot in the second round by defeating the Vegas Golden Knights 2-1 in Game 7 of their first-round series Sunday night. As the division champions, the Stars will have home ice advantage against the Avs.
The Avalanche will have a week off between games, as Game 1 of its second-round series is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at American Airlines Center in Dallas.
In a reversal of their previous series, in which the Avs faced a Jets team that had beaten them in all three regular-season meetings, Colorado won three of four against Dallas this season.
The Stars did win their last meeting, 7-4, at Ball Arena on April 7.
