The Abbotsford Police Department is investigating a lethal crash involving an unidentified woman on Highway 11, which is also known as the Abbotsford-Mission highway in the local area.
Authorities state that the crash happened on Saturday night in the 5300 block of Highway 11.
Law enforcement was summoned to the location around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, where they discovered the victim, who seemed to have sustained serious injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
The roads in the area were temporarily shut down to allow the RCMP’s Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Services to collect evidence and interview witnesses.
Abbotsford police are asking for help in identifying the female victim and are seeking information from the public who may have been in the area between 10 p.m. and midnight to contact the detachment.
Police have stated that they will not be providing further comments about the incident at this time.
