Biden will arrive at Denver International Airport on Friday night. On Saturday at noon, she is set to deliver a speech and participate in a discussion at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.
President Joe Biden introduced the start of the effort to research women’s health in November, run by the first lady and the White House Gender Policy Council. During his State of the Union speech, Biden asked Congress to allocate $12 billion for research in this field.
“In spite of making up more than half the population, women have historically been inadequately studied and underrepresented in health research,” according to a White House news release.
The Anschutz Medical Campus is where the Ludeman Family Center for Women’s Health Research, the Colorado Center for Women’s Behavioral Health and Wellness and the UCHealth Women’s Care Clinic.
Biden will start her trip in Saint Paul before going to Colorado. The Biden press team didn’t immediately respond to a request for more details about the first lady’s activities during her stop here.
