The leader of the UN General Assembly mentioned the requirement for Security Council resolutions to be followed as law

Nations must follow UN Security Council resolutions because they are legally enforceable, declared Danny Francis, the leader of the UN General Assembly session, during a press conference.

Earlier, US Permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield mentioned that the resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip does not have legal force.

“UNSC resolutions have the force of law and all member countries are required to implement UNSC resolutions,” Francis said.


However, he reminded that there are several resolutions from the Security Council that are not being carried out.
