Surrey-based Punjabi pop artist Karan Aujla will embark on a summer arena tour that includes a Vancouver stop in August

Following his win of the Fan Choice Juno Award, the singer based in Surrey has announced that he will be returning to British Columbia to perform at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on August 17th. The Surrey artists have had a successful year, and it proves that the increasing popularity of mainly Punjabi-based pop from British Columbia’s rapidly growing urban center is only going to continue. It’s been a banner year for Surrey artists and proof that the exploding popularity of primarily Punjabi-based pop coming from B.C.’s fastest-growing urban centre will just keep on coming..

The show at the Commodore Ballroom was sold out, which was considered a major achievement by fans.

Then came the announcement of global superstar Diljit Dosanjh performing at B.C. Place on April 27, followed by Aujla’s big Juno win. Khanvict and Raaginder Now, he becomes the first Punjabi-Canadian artist to tour across Canada with dates in Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver.

Songs from Aujla’s album Making Memories made it into the Top 20 charts in more than 20 countries, and reached the #22 spot on the Billboard Canada chart. A song like Admirin’ You, which was performed at the Juno Awards, is certain to be a hit with the crowd. More tour dates will be announced in the future, according to tour promoter Live Nation.

The top five concerts in Vancouver to see in April include Snoop Dogg, Orville Peck, Sam Hunt, Santigold, St. Vincent, and Heart.
