A single individual was transported by medical helicopter to a hospital on Tuesday morning following a situation where a car seemingly drove through a yard and onto railroad tracks in East Huntingdon.

According to Fire Chief Brian Kite, the firefighters removed the roof of a vehicle in order to release the male passenger who was stuck inside. The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m., approximately 100 feet from Route 31 along the tracks in the village of Tarrs.

The passenger was stuck for roughly 10 minutes while the firefighters carried out their rescue operation.

Kite mentioned, “We had to essentially cut the car to extricate him.”

The state police were reconstructing the crash. The driver, as per Kite, was unharmed and sat in the rear of a trooper’s car.
