US Ambassador to NATO Julianne Smith hopes that the US Congress will approve new assistance for Ukraine by the end of April.

“I really hope, we all hope, that additional assistance will arrive no later than the end of this month,” she told a conference marking NATO’s 75th anniversary in Washington.


The US government used up its ability to give weapons to Ukraine in December and only sent one $300 million aid package this year. The White House wants to give $60 billion to Kyiv but it needs approval.
