WATCH: Fox’s Maria Bartiromo and Nancy Mace have a heated argument after Mace calls Kevin McCarthy 'disgraced'

Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo disagreed with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) for criticizing Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as a “disgraced” former speaker.

Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo disagreed with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) for criticizing Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as a “disgraced” former speaker.

During a morning interview on Wednesday, Bartiromo questioned Mace about her thoughts on the latest attempts to remove Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA). Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) recently introduced a motion to remove the speaker, following the passing of the $1.2 trillion spending bill.

Greene has continued her push to remove Johnson, particularly because he is in favor of providing military and financial aid to Ukraine. Some Democrats have indicated they would support Johnson if Greene called for a vote on her proposal to remove him.

Mace responded to Greene’s actions, expressing her backing for Johnson as speaker — while labeling McCarthy as the “disgraced former speaker.”

MACE: I don’t support the motion to vacate the chair. In fact, the motion that was filed wasn’t privilege. And so we’re actually not even going to vote on it. And so, you know, Mike Johnson was dealt a bad hand. The former speaker, disgraced former speaker-

BARTIROMO: Kevin McCarthy is not disgraced.

MACE:  I consider him disgraced. Absolutely.

BARTIROMO: Why?

MACE: Because he wouldn’t tell the truth to the party, to the conference. He lied over and over again.

BARTIROML: Come on, that’s not provable that he lied. Are you going to vote to send money to Ukraine?

MACE: Kevin McCarthy recruited a puppet to run against me and my Republican primary. You go to puppet catherine.com. He recruited somebody that can’t win a general election in a purple district. Yes. He’s a disgraced former speaker. When it comes to Ukraine funding will be voting on supplemental aid it sounds like next week when we go back to DC.

BARTIROMO: Don’t you think you all should stick together? In some ways you are hanging on by a thread in the majority. When are you actually going to unite as a party and get things done?

MACE: Right, I agree, which is why Kevin McCarthy shouldn’t go after fellow Republicans that can win in general elections in purple seats. You can go to NancyMace.Org and learn more about our campaign.
