The Rockies play against the Rays at Coors Field on opening day with a pitching matchup

After his mediocre season debut in Arizona, Austin Gomber will pitch for the home opener for Colorado.

Friday’s pitching matchup

Rays right-handed pitcher Zack Little, who has won one game and has a 0.00 ERA, will face Rockies left-handed pitcher Austin Gomber, who has not won a game and has a 7.71 ERA.

The game starts at 2:10 p.m. on Friday at Coors Field

In his last game, Little performed well and helped the Rays win by not allowing any runs in six innings, with four hits and two walks. Gomber did not do as well in his last game, allowing four runs in four-plus innings, and was hurt by two home runs. Gomber has only faced the Rays once, giving up three runs on seven hits over six innings.

Saturday: The Rays' left-handed pitcher Tyler Alexander (0-0, 9.00) will face the Rockies' right-handed pitcher Ryan Feltner (0-1, 5.40) at 6:10 p.m.

Sunday: The Rays' right-handed pitcher Ryan Pepiot (0-1, 9.53) will face the Rockies' right-handed pitcher Dakota Hudson (0-1, 0.00) at 1:10 p.m.

Monday: The Diamondbacks' right-handed pitcher Zac Gallen (2-0, 0.82) will face the Rockies' left-handed pitcher Kyle Freeland (0-2, 27.00) at 6:40 p.m.
