Landslide shuts part of Route 66 in Parks Township

A section of Route 66 from Vandergrift to Leechburg was shut down on Wednesday evening because of a landslide, according to PennDOT officials.

A section of Route 66 from Vandergrift to Leechburg was shut down on Wednesday evening because of a landslide, according to PennDOT officials.

The part of Route 66 between the junction of Jefferson Street and First Street/Lincoln Street in Parks Township was closed at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and there is no estimated time for it to reopen, PennDOT stated.

Drivers were advised to take Route 56 and the Route 56 Bypass at South Leechburg Hill.
