Joe Rogan criticized The View and its hosts while speaking to author Coleman Hughes after his tense interview with Sunny Hostin

Joe Rogan laid into The View and its hosts while chatting with author Coleman Hughes, a View guest fresh off of a tense interview with Sunny Hostin.

Hughes appeared on The View to promote his End of Race Politics book and ended up squaring off with Hostin on the role of race in culture and politics. Hughes and Hostin fought on multiple points, including whether the author was “co-opted by the right” or had ever called himself a conservative.

Hughes joined Rogan for the comedian’s Joe Rogan Experience podcast and discussed his View experience. Rogan had a few positive things to offer about the show. He referred to it as a “rabies-infested henhouse” after Hughes said he received messages nonstop in the days after his appearance.

“It is the show that people love to hate,” Rogan said. “They get so much hate watching and so much hate watching viral clips of them saying ridiculous things. I mean, it is a rabies-infested henhouse.”

The podcaster and comedian did offer some praise for Hostin, calling her “very intelligent” but “ideologically captured.”

“There are a couple of the other ones, I don’t have to name any names, that are just dull-minded,” Rogan said. “But Sunny’s not one of them. I think she’s smart, but captured.”

Both men then questioned whether Hostin’s claim that she read Hughes’s book twice after it had been released for a few weeks was true.

After his interview with Hostin, Hughes told Matt Taibbi that Hostin had “no idea what she was talking about” when they clashed and accused him of being conservative over his views on race.

“It turns out she was just, almost everything she said — she had no idea what she was talking about,” he said.
