Crews are present near CRAB Park in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside due to a motor home that is on fire.
The fire started on Tuesday morning around 9 a.m. and seemed to be in a motor home parked near CRAB Park, just off Main Street and Waterfront Road.
A video from the scene shows two fire trucks parked along Waterfront Road while crews dealt with the fire.
It is not known if there are any injuries or if investigators have determined the cause of the fire.
Recently, residents at the nearby CRAB Park encampment were told to temporarily leave the park so that the Vancouver park board could clean up deteriorating conditions.
City and park officials stated that the clean up operation was necessary to address health and safety issues caused by dangerous structures and unhygienic conditions.
Many residents were relocated to specific tenting spots on the opposite side of the park.
More information will be provided.
