The March Madness tournament had higher ratings after the most-watched Elite Eight Sunday in 5 years

Nielson reported that the Wolfpack’s 76-64 win over the Blue Devils had an average of 15.1 million viewers on CBS, compared to 15.6 million for the 2013 game between Duke and Louisville.

The NCAA Tournament is averaging 9.4 million viewers on CBS, TBS, TNT and truTV, which is a 4% increase from last year.

The Purdue vs. Tennessee game on Sunday had an average of 10.4 million viewers, making it the most-watched early regional final in five years.

Sunday’s average viewership of 12.8 million is a 30% increase from last year, and the most-watched Elite Eight doubleheader since 2019.

The Sweet 16 games on CBS, TBS and truTV on Thursday and Friday averaged 10.3 million viewers, up 5% from 2023.

Alabama’s win over North Carolina on Thursday night was the most-watched regional semifinal game, with an average of 7.8 million viewers, while Duke’s win over Houston drew 7.3 million on Friday night.
