Sewickley Hills introduces a new website for the borough

Sewickley Hills officials recently launched a new website to boost communication with residents and businesses.

Sewickley Hills authorities have recently started a new website to improve communication with residents and businesses.

The site, sewickleyhills.com, was developed in collaboration with municipal website builders Town Web.

Borough secretary Diana Steele said council evaluated at least three service providers and collaborated with Town Web on the project for nine months. It became live in late March.

“This site offers more ways to interact than our previous website,” Steele said. “We believed it was necessary to change vendors in order to make the website more user-friendly.”

The front page includes links for recent posts and a section for residents to submit comments.

A calendar of upcoming events is located at the bottom of the page, along with a place for people to subscribe for borough alerts and updates. There is also a local weather forecast at the bottom right of the page.

Searching for meeting agendas and minutes was made simpler with filters that narrow dates and types of meetings.

Individuals can enter the month, day and year of a meeting they wish to check instead of scrolling through a long list.

A list of borough fees and permits is under the “Community” drop-down menu.

Steele mentioned that the website costs $4,200 for four years.
