Drivers on the Parkway East should prepare for several months of only one lane available in the eastern suburbs of Allegheny County because of construction by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Drivers on the Parkway East should prepare for several months of only one lane available in the eastern suburbs of Allegheny County because of construction by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Monday, if the weather allows, Interstate 376 will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between the Churchill/Route 130 interchange at Exit 79B and the Monroeville/Route 48 interchange at Exit 84A, spanning across Churchill, Wilkins, Penn Hills, and Monroeville.

PennDOT stated that the lane restrictions will continue until late November.

According to PennDOT, construction teams will change concrete median barriers, lay pavement, paint bridges, and perform other roadwork.

The project is part of a $70 million initiative to improve the Parkway East.
