Man accused of strangling woman, killing her with vehicle pleads guilty

A man who strangled a woman and then ran over her in the parking lot of an Aurora apartment complex has pleaded guilty in connection to the crime.

A man who choked a woman and then drove over her in the parking area of an Aurora apartment building has admitted to the crime.

Jordan Howard, 26, accepted his guilt on March 19 for reckless manslaughter, as per Arapahoe County District Court records. He received a five-year sentence in the Colorado Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

On March 4, 2022, officers from the Aurora Police Department found a woman with injuries in a parking lot near East 11th Avenue and Peoria Street. She informed investigators that a man she had met drove her to that place and strangled her until she lost consciousness, as outlined in a news release.

The man, later identified as Howard, forced her out of the car and drove over her. She remained in the parking area for over two hours before she was discovered.

The woman passed away from her injuries on April 19, 2022.
