A man from Penn Hills is accused of committing serious crimes, such as having inappropriate contact with and influencing a minor, as stated by Allegheny County Police. They say he sexually attacked a 7-year-old girl in Sharpsburg.

Richard Sheets, 29, of Universal Road, is also charged with sharing inappropriate material with minors and indecently attacking someone, which relates to an event on Penn Street on March 4.

During an interview at the Child Advocacy Center of UPMC Children’s Hospital, the girl informed the police that Sheets assaulted her while spending a weekend in Sharpsburg, as per a criminal complaint.

She was alone with Sheets in the living room of a house on Penn Street, while other adults were in different parts of the house, the police reported.

According to legal papers, the girl was sitting next to Sheets on the sofa and saw him watching inappropriate content on his phone. She described it to the police as a naked woman, according to the complaint.

She reported to the police that Sheets put his hand on her lap and touched her over her clothes while also engaging in inappropriate behavior, as stated in the complaint.

The girl mentioned to the police that she ultimately managed to flee to another room, the complaint stated.

He is waiting for a date for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Matt Rudzki.
