A man passed away in a shooting early Friday morning on Main Street.
At 12:32 a.m. Friday, police were called to intervene in a confrontation between two individuals in front of 321 Main St. The altercation occurred after the two men had recently left the Speakeasy Bar and Venue at 301 Main St, according to a statement from Longmont Public Safety.
During the altercation, a man was shot and killed. The alleged shooter dialed 911 and stayed at the scene until the police arrived, as reported in the statement.
As of this morning, no arrests have been made and the shooting is still being investigated by the authorities. The statement assured that there is no danger to the community.
The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed.
Individuals who were at the Speakeasy Bar and Venue between 9 p.m. Thursday and 12:30 a.m. Friday are urged to get in touch with Longmont police Detective Jon High at 303-651-8584. Additionally, the police are looking for any footage of the incident captured by businesses or bystanders.
