PIAA shares details of Friday's matchups for the boys basketball quarterfinals

The boys Class 5A state postseason has seen strong performances from the WPIAL teams.

The WPIAL boys Class 5A teams have performed well in the state postseason.

Four out of the eight remaining teams in that category are from District 7, ensuring a WPIAL team will compete for PIAA gold in Hershey next Friday.

In Class 4A, three WPIAL teams, including defending PIAA champion Lincoln Park, are still in the running.

Two District 7 teams are still in the running for Class A, including defending state champion Imani Christian.

Here are the results from the first two rounds of the PIAA boys 5A, 4A, and A games, along with the locations and times for the state quarterfinals on Friday.

Linville Hill's record of 22 wins and 1 loss will play against Freeland MMI, which has 16 wins and 10 losses, at 6 p.m. in Martz Hall in Pottsville.

Lancaster Country Day, with 18 wins and 9 losses, will face Berlin-Brothersvalley, with 26 wins and 2 losses, at McConnelsburg at 7 p.m.

Imani Christian scored 79 points, while Clarion scored 45.

Farrell secured 69 points, and Cameron County got 56.

Bishop Carroll won with 71 points, while Neighborhood Academy scored 70 points in overtime.

Union won with 64 points, and Elk County Catholic scored 62.

Linville Hill achieved a victory with 83 points against Bethlehem Christian's 57 points.

Freeland MMI won with a score of 39, while High Point Baptist got 35.

Lancaster Country Day won with 56 points, and Phil-Mont Christian got 43.

Berlin-Brothersvalley won with a score of 71, and Lancaster Country Christian got 53.
