LOS ANGELES — Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning are set to add a fresh approach to NBC Universal’s coverage of the Paris Olympics this summer.

Clarkson and Manning are expected to join Mike Tirico in hosting the live coverage of the opening ceremony on July 26.

Peyton Manning expressed his honor in being part of the event, as he is a Pro Football Hall of Famer and a former NFL quarterback.

Kelly Clarkson, known for her accomplishments in music and television, will also be part of the hosting team for the Paris Olympics.

In an interview, Manning shared his anticipation for the emotional stories of the athletes during the opening ceremony.

Manning admitted to stepping out of his comfort zone for this event, while Tirico expressed his confidence in Manning and Clarkson’s abilities as hosts.

Tirico emphasized the importance of authenticity for Manning and Clarkson as hosts, highlighting the cultural significance of the event.

The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics will take place along the Seine River during sunset, marking the first time it will be held outside a traditional stadium setting.

Around 10,500 athletes are expected to participate in the 6-kilometer boat parade through the heart of Paris.

Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb will provide coverage from a bridge as the athletes pass by during the parade.

Molly Solomon praised the hosting pair, referring to them as a compelling combination that brings out the best in each other.

Solomon expressed her enthusiasm about the hosting team and highlighted the unique perspective that Guthrie and Kotb will bring to the telecast.

Guthrie and Kotb will offer a special viewpoint as they observe the ceremony alongside the fans during the athlete boat parade.
