West Alameda Avenue will be closed from Friday evening to Monday morning at the South Platte River Bridge as workers do demolition.

The closure, from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, will affect Alameda between Kalamath and Lipan streets, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The ramp from southbound Interstate 25 to Alameda will also be closed during the same time.

Constructed in 1911, the bridge over the South Platte River is the oldest bridge on the state highway system, as per CDOT.

The current project started in January 2023 and is anticipated to finish next spring.
