At the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD), SUCCA Africa revealed that they have made a big move to help West African businesses shift to net zero emissions by joining the Race to Zero campaign as an Accelerator.

Race to Zero is the biggest campaign in the world urging non-State actors to take immediate action to contribute to reducing global emissions by 2030. It has over 13,500 members worldwide.

We are pleased to have SUCCA Africa as our initial African 'Race to Zero' accelerator,” says H.E. Razan Al Mubarak, UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP28. “Recognizing the essential role of business and the private sector in our battle against climate change, we are eager to mobilize the private sector not only in West Africa but also in surrounding regions. Our aim is a fair and just transition to net zero emissions. With the abundant opportunities and strengths in Africa, a strategic vision tailored to its unique needs can drive a transformative economy.”

SUCCA Africa will be joining 30+ other Accelerators to raise awareness of the Race to Zero while building the capacity of non-State actors to deliver ambitious net zero action.

We are thrilled at SUCCA Africa to lead the way as the first organisation in Africa to join the Race to Zero Accelerator initiative,” says Prince Osisadan, Founder and CEO of SUCCA Africa. “By joining this global effort, we show our unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. This partnership marks a significant step forward in our mission to support entities of all sizes, including private, public, SMEs, and multinational corporations in achieving their net-zero emissions ambitions. Teaming up with other leading organizations, we are ready to accelerate the journey towards a more sustainable future for all.
