Petróleos Mexicanos' (PEMEX) Sustainability Plan, which aligns with the institution’s Business Plan objective to 'Consolidate the route to sustainable performance,' has been approved by its Board of Directors through Agreement CA-010-2024.
Following the vision of sustainable development of the United Nations and Mexican authorities' commitments, PEMEX has established goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning to cleaner energy sources for the medium (2030) and long term (2050).
The goals in the Plan were based on opportunities and challenges identified in PEMEX's value chain and business model.
The Sustainability Committee gave a favorable opinion on this plan, which was prepared with support from Standard & Poor’s Global Commodity Insights, a consulting firm with expertise in energy transition, low-carbon options, emissions management, and the environment.
