A new shuttle service is set to open, providing a less stressful way to reach the top of Pikes Peak

This summer, a new $30 package deal at Pikes Peak offers the entrance fee and a shuttle service up the mountain.

A new travel choice for the 2024 summer season might increase the total number of visitors using the Pikes Peak Highway to over 500,000.

Pike Peak America’s Mountain Manager Skler Rorabaugh mentioned that many visitors express their fear of driving the switchbacks above timberline and ask for a shuttle service instead.

During this summer, a new option is available for a $30 package, which covers the entrance fee and a shuttle ride up the mountain.

Rorabaugh explained that visitors can drive comfortably to mile seven, then hop on the shuttle to ride all the way to the summit.

The North Slope Recreation Area at the foot of Pikes Peak opens for the season on May 1.
