Multiple grassfires are currently ablaze near Peterson Space Force Base and Colorado Springs Airport

At 5:24 p.m., the CSFD reported that the fires were continuing to spread without providing information on their size.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department has stated that several fires are currently active to the east of Peterson Space Force Base and Colorado Springs Airport.

At 4:49 p.m., the CSFD reported that at least 10 Colorado Springs fire units, along with units from the Ellicott Fire Protection District and Cheyenne Mountain Fire & Emergency Services, were working to control at least four fires in the vicinity of Marksheffel and Drennen roads.

At 5:24 p.m., the CSFD announced that the fires were still spreading but did not specify their size.
