Kari Lake sat down for an interview with CNN in which she reiterated her false claim that the 2020 election was “rigged”

Speaking with CNN’s Melanie Zanona in an interview which aired on Inside Politics Sunday, the Arizona senate candidate punted on a question in which she was asked to put herself in former Vice President Mike Pence’s shoes.

“If you had been vice president, would you would you have certified the 2020 election result?” Zanona asked.

“These are crazy … this is like a hypothetical going forward, and a hypothetical going backward,” Lake said. “I’m not going to entertain that.”

Zanona then pressed Lake about the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial race she has said was stolen.

“Do you still believe that your election was stolen?” Zanona asked.

“We had major problems in our election, and we’re really working to resolve those problems,” Lake said. “We still have some court cases.”

But while she backed off some of her 2022 election rhetoric, Lake had no qualms about re-upping her claim about the 2020 vote.

“2020 election, I think it was a rigged election,” Lake said. “I believe it was.”
