Authorities are asking the public for information regarding the suspicious death in Port Coquitlam.

The Coquitlam RCMP is urging anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist in the investigation of what they have termed a suspicious death.

On April 16, the body of a woman in her late 20s was discovered at a residence on Burns Road near Dominion Avenue. Authorities confirmed the victim’s identity on Tuesday.

Investigators have been present at the residence since that time.

Officials state that the death is an isolated incident and not linked to any gang-related conflicts. They assure that there is no threat to the public.

“Until the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are verified, Coquitlam GIS (general investigative services) will continue to lead the investigation while collaborating with IHIT,” stated RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Alexa Hodgins.

“Investigators suspect that there are individuals who may possess crucial information about this suspicious death and are appealing to those persons to reach out to the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550.”

Law enforcement in Surrey are seeking witnesses to a pedestrian hit and run.

Authorities in Surrey are urging the driver responsible for a hit-and-run to step forward.

On Sunday, a man was struck by a passing vehicle in the 19100 block of 74 Avenue.

“The man was treated at the scene for non life-threatening injuries and subsequently taken to the hospital for further assessment,” as per a police statement.

The vehicle involved is described as a grey two-door pickup truck with a black box liner and silver wheels with seven spokes. It is likely to have sustained damage on the front passenger’s side.

Authorities are looking for the driver of this truck in connection to a hit and run that occurred in Surrey on April 21, 2024.

Cpl. James Mason noted, “Thankfully, the pedestrian was not seriously harmed as a result of the collision.”

“Law enforcement is urging the driver involved in the incident to do the right thing and come forward.”
