The Cambie Street Bridge will be closed overnight Thursday for filming on a big movie.
Vancouver's city government says the bridge will be closed from 7 p.m. on Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday and will fully reopen at that time.
The bridge will be closed in both directions and traffic will be directed away from Cambie at 7th Avenue on the south side to Beatty Street in the downtown area.
People using public transportation in the area should expect buses to be rerouted. Drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists going in and out of downtown should find different paths. New routes will be shown and drivers are asked to be aware of no-parking signs in the area.
A spokesperson from the City of Vancouver warned on Wednesday that residents might hear noise from drones and see lights from cranes during filming.
The statement expressed strong support for Vancouver's film and TV industry, which provides major economic and community benefits for local residents and businesses.
The shutdown comes shortly before the bridge and many other roads and bridges around Vancouver's core will be closed for Sunday's Vancouver Sun Run.
