A previous gymnastics trainer who possessed and managed a fitness academy in Centennial has been convicted of numerous counts of sexually assaulting children, according to Arapahoe authorities who made the announcement on Wednesday.
Erik Oldham, 37, was taken into custody in May 2022 under suspicion of multiple instances of child sexual assault, sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust, illegal sexual contact, luring of a child, and attempted crime, as detailed in a news release from the Arapahoe County Sheriffs’ Office.
Oldham pleaded not guilty to all nine charges, as documented in Arapahoe County court records.
On April 5, a jury found Oldham guilty, and he was returned to Arapahoe County Jail without bond while awaiting a sentencing hearing scheduled for July 8.
Specific information regarding the charges on which the jury found Oldham guilty was not available.
Oldham was the proprietor and trainer of A+ Athletics in Centennial until August of 2021, according to Wednesday’s release. In late 2021, a victim disclosed details of criminal conduct by Oldham involving an athlete in his program.
