The motorcycle club called the Savages is selling their main base in Langford for nearly $1.5 million, two months after the police searched the area.
The building and land for the clubhouse at 2775 Spencer Rd. is being offered as a great investment for smart investors and business owners, with a 1,456-square-foot building and a fenced, gated 7,400-square-foot lot.
The advertisement states that the building is in a strategic location with a practical layout and plenty of parking.
The clubhouse was one of nine properties and three vehicles searched on Jan. 31 during a cross-jurisdiction operation, which led to the seizure of various drugs, including about 450 grams of fentanyl.
The B.C. Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, which focuses on gangs, has stated that the Savages are known to be a support club for the Hells Angels.
Cpl. Nancy Saggar of West Shore RCMP said their investigation may have influenced the decision to put the clubhouse up for sale.
At the time of the police search, Saggar mentioned the possibility of applying to the province’s Civil Forfeiture Office to take over the property, depending on the outcome of the case in court and a judge's decision.
Forty officers from West Shore RCMP, the RCMP Emergency Response Team, the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, the Victoria Police Strike Force, and the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit conducted the searches in January following a lengthy investigation.
Conducting all the searches at the same time was a strategic move to preserve evidence, according to Saggar.
“We believe that there was a connection between the properties so we had to make sure that we did it all on the same day.”
Among the items seized were 200 grams of psilocybin, smaller quantities of powdered and crack cocaine, various pills, an SKS rifle, a prohibited handgun, and just over $46,000 in cash.
