Nearly all of South Santa Fe Drive will be closed north of West Alameda Avenue on Monday for a two-month construction project, as announced by Denver Water officials on Friday.

Nearly all of South Santa Fe Drive will be closed north of West Alameda Avenue starting Monday for a construction project that will last two months, announced Denver Water officials on Friday.

There will be lane closures on the one-way stretch 24/7 for two months while crews replace a section of water pipe nearly 100 years old, from West Byers Place to West Bayaud Avenue, according to Denver Water.

Denver Water, which is Colorado’s oldest water utility, supplies water to 1.5 million people in Denver and the surrounding suburbs.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained throughout the project, but commuters should anticipate delays, according to Denver Water.

Construction will mostly occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays, with some night work expected.
