Victorian-era fashion is being shown at the Kerr Memorial Museum in Oakmont

Explore the elegant fashions of the late 1800s at The Kerr Memorial Museum, which is currently hosting a Victorian-themed exhibit.

You can see the elegant fashions of the late 1800s at The Kerr Memorial Museum, where there is an ongoing Victorian-themed exhibit.

The Brown Collection Exhibit, which features a mix of stunning clothing from the gilded 1880s to the roaring 1920s, will be on display through August.

The W.H. Brown family donated the collection, and the exhibit will continue until Aug. 23.

Brown, a wealthy coal and shipping industrialist, donated fashions worn by his socialite wife Margaret Boyle and his brother Samuel Brown for the exhibit.

Joan Stewart, a museum board member and volunteer, encourages people not to miss the opportunity to learn about Pittsburgh's past, a family similar to the Fricks and the Carnegies, and the fashions that are still popular even 100 years later.

The museum is open for guided tours by appointment only, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., led by museum docents.

Admission prices are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $8 for students, and credit cards are not accepted.

The Kerr Museum's address is 402 Delaware Avenue in Oakmont. To schedule a tour, call 412-826-9295.
