An Aurora repairman who was taken into custody on suspicion of sexual assault of a child might have additional victims, as per the police

An Aurora repairman was arrested on March 27 for alleged sexual assault and luring of a child, and police believe he might have more victims.

Mohamad Arab Bin Shamsur-Alam, 37, was arrested and detained without bail on two charges of sexual assault of a child and two counts of luring a child, as stated in a Thursday news release. In 2023, Shamsur-Alam, while working as a repairman, allegedly enticed two young girls into the bathroom and sexually assaulted them. The release mentions that Shamsur-Alam had also assaulted the children on a previous occasion while carrying out maintenance at the home.

Based on his prior arrest record, law enforcement believes that Shamsur-Alam's behavior may be escalating and that he may have more victims. Shamsur-Alam was previously arrested in 2019 for alleged harassment, child abuse, and sexual contact. The police claim that he exposed himself to a young girl and pulled down the pants of a young boy.

The charges of child abuse and sexual contact were dismissed, and an obscene harassment charge was revised. Shamsur-Alam was found guilty of harassment for striking, shoving, or kicking. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail with 60 days credit for time served and fined about $200, according to court documents.

As per the release, Shamsur-Alam, a Rohingya immigrant fluent in multiple languages, including Burmese, is suspected of targeting the Burmese community or other immigrant groups in Aurora.
