Trump is being accused of not telling the truth about talking to the family of a murder victim

Donald Trump falsely claimed to have spoken with the family of teenage murder victim Ruby Garcia during a Tuesday rally in Michigan, as per Garcia’s grieving family.

During a rally in Michigan, Donald Trump falsely claimed to have spoken with the family of Ruby Garcia, a teenage murder victim, according to Garcia’s family who are grieving.

Initially, Ruby Garcia was 25, not 17 as stated by Trump. She was allegedly killed by an undocumented man, according to The Associated Press.

The Garcia family was surprised to hear Trump's assertion in Grand Rapids that he had “spoken to some of her family,” according to the victim’s sister.

Mavi Garcia, the victim’s sister, stated that Trump's statement about speaking with the family was untrue and misleading, which she found shocking to see on live TV.

Mavi Garcia mentioned that she watched part of Trump’s speech but had to turn it off when he started using her sister’s death to promote anti-immigrant ideas.

She expressed her dismay that the focus was only on illegal immigrants and questioned why there was no discussion about American criminals who commit atrocious acts.

Ruby Garcia was reportedly shot and left alongside a Michigan highway last month by an acquaintance.

Brandon Ortiz-Vite, the 25-year-old suspect, is set to appear in court next week for charges of murder and carjacking. He entered the U.S. illegally as a child and confessed to killing Ruby Garcia, as per Michigan station WZZM.

Trump, at his rally, reminisced about Ruby Garcia's spirit and claimed to have spoken to some of her family, an assertion disputed by Mavi Garcia.

Mavi Garcia insists that her close-knit family would be aware of any contact from the former president and views Trump’s behavior as a distraction for the grieving loved ones of the murder victim.

Mavi Garcia stressed the need to focus on her sister amidst Trump's actions, as conveyed to WOOD-TV.

Trump did not specify which members of the Garcia family he supposedly reached out to.

There has been no response from his campaign to a request for comment.
