Mike Tyson told Fox News that he's really afraid of the Jake Paul fight

Mike Tyson joined Sean Hannity on Tuesday to discuss his upcoming fight with Jake Paul, a man more than 30 years younger than the boxing legend.

Mike Tyson joined Sean Hannity on Tuesday to talk about his upcoming fight with Jake Paul, a man over 30 years younger than him.

The match between 58-year-old Tyson and 27-year-old Paul is set for July in Arlington, Texas.

Tyson has shared some of his training videos, but admitted to Hannity that he's “scared to death,” though he's feeling less scared as the fight gets closer.

“Listen, will you please promise me you’re going to kick this guy’s ass and shut him up, please?” Hannity asked.

“Hey, I’ll do just that for you,” Tyson joked.

Tyson's last fight was in 2020, his first in 15 years. Paul has been in several matches after gaining fame as a YouTube creator.

“I think it’s, you know, he came a long way from YouTubing — and listen, I’ve seen the YouTube of him at 16 doing weird dances. That’s not the guy I’m going to be fighting. This guy is going to come out and then try to hurt me, which I’m accustomed to, he’s going to be greatly mistaken,” Tyson said.

In reality, Tyson said, he’s “invincible.”

“Anything I’m afraid [of], I confront it, and that’s my personality. And right now, I’m afraid. I’m scared to death but as the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become because it’s reality and in reality, I’m invincible,” the former heavyweight champ said.

“I think that people hearing Mike Tyson is scared to death is kind of reminiscent of the last Rocky movie, right? He goes, I’m scared to death, champ, aren’t you afraid? I’m afraid of nothing. Yeah, well, okay, that didn’t work out,” Hannity said. “Did you feel that fear or that — maybe it’s a sense of failure or potential failure all your career?”

“No, it’s a sign of victory,” Tyson said.

He explained he needs these “feelings” in order to fight.

“If I didn’t have these feelings, I wouldn’t go into this fight. I have to have these feelings to fight,” he said. “Without them, I would never go in the ring.”
