Brandin Cummings and Meleek Thomas are a powerful pair for Lincoln Park’s boys basketball team, but they are not exactly like Batman and Robin.

Cummings stated, “We are both like Batman. I don’t think one is better than the other. We both excel in many areas.”

They have the talent to win championships. This winter, the duo achieved success by securing WPIAL and PIAA Class 4A titles for the second consecutive year.

Both of them are 6-foot-4 guards. One averaged 23 points per game while the other scored 22 points. They often took turns leading the team, with Thomas recording a double-double in the WPIAL finals and Cummings scoring 37 points in the state championship.

They now share a common feature as the 2024 TribLive HSSN Boys Co-Players of the Year.

Cummings, a senior who is committed to Pitt, will graduate with 2,224 career points. Thomas, a junior who is considered one of the top five recruits nationally in the 2025 class, has 1,750 points.

They steered Lincoln Park to a combined record of 58-4 over the last two seasons.

Cummings stated, “We have won many games and championships together. Beyond basketball, we spend a lot of time together. Over the years, we have grown closer as friends.”

Cummings discusses winning championships, his impact in the WPIAL, the close relationship of the dynamic duo, and more with TribLive HSSN’s Don Rebel.
