Eric Swalwell criticizes Trump for promoting violence, stating that the most dangerous individuals in the U.S. possess the most dangerous weapons

Eric Swalwell criticized former President Donald Trump for “glorifying violence” as some of “most dangerous people” in the country remain “armed to the teeth.”

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) called out former President Donald Trump for “glorifying violence” as some of “most dangerous people” in the country remain “armed to the teeth.”

During an interview on MSNBC on Saturday, the panel discussed how election officials continue to face threats of violence ahead of the 2024 presidential race in November.

Swalwell noted that he was “very concerned” with election officials being threatened, saying that dangerous people in the U.S. have “access to some of the most dangerous weapons.”

The California lawmaker also pointed at Trump’s rhetoric on his Truth Social account where the Republican nominee shared a video depicting President Joe Biden tied up in a truck.

Trump has also released statements via his social media account to criticize the judges and prosecutors involved in his civil and criminal cases.

We’re still a country that’s armed to the teeth, right? I know the most dangerous people have access to the most dangerous weapons in this country. The violent rhetoric is we saw, you know, just yesterday from the former president’s, you know, truth account, where he’s glorifying violence continues to go up.

And one part of this that really concerns me is that the Department of Justice, you know, who is charged with investigating these threats, they are overwhelmed because the investigators are being threatened. So the people who would be typically investigating someone who’s threatening an elected official, you know, or a poll worker, that FBI official, that U.S. attorney is also being threatened.

So this is just an attempt, as I said, to overwhelm the system. And that makes me very nervous seven months out.
