As many politicians are trying to prohibit TikTok in the US because of its connections to China .One legal analyst on Fox News praised the social media platform for showing realistic depictions of crime in large cities.
The Republican-led House of Representatives recently passed a bipartisan bill that would require TikTok’s parent company to stop having Chinese ownership because of concerns that the communist country is using the technology to spy on Americans. President is committed to signing the bill if it passes the Democratic-led Senate. Joe Biden Brian Kilmeade
played several TikTok clips showing violent crime in various cities and expressed frustration at the fact that many of those responsible for the crimes have been arrested multiple times. “You wonder why the police are frustrated? Wake up, New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia!” Kilmeade said. He then introduced Fox News contributor
who credited TikTok videos with exposing widespread crime. Paul Mauro “You know what really is driving the pushback, is social media,” Mauro said. “Because people on social media — it’s not curated. People can’t get in front of it like the media to kind of manage the message. People, as you saw, with these TikToks, are getting out there and they’re talking about what’s actually happening. So, as much as we all have some issues with TikTok —
the other social media platforms , same thing. People are speaking.”“You can feel the air of menace in the subway and on the streets,” Mauro said, “And people are waking up to it.”
Mauro added, “This time the decline is televised. Because we have social media, there’s video everywhere, you can’t hide it. They would love to, trust me, but they can’t. And, so, people are seeing it and videos like that, seeing is believing. People understand what we are getting into.”
