Penguins defenseman Ryan Graves found to have a concussion

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Ryan Graves has been diagnosed with a concussion, according to coach Mike Sullivan.

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Ryan Graves has been diagnosed with a concussion, as stated by coach Mike Sullivan.

Sullivan disclosed his condition after a practice session in Cranberry on Friday.

Graves got hurt during a 3-2 home win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday. He didn't play after the 18:56 mark of the first period.

The left-handed Graves has scored 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) in 70 games this season, averaging 18:23 of ice time per game, including 1:59 on the penalty kill.

It's likely that left-handed rookie defenseman John Ludvig will take Graves' place in the lineup. Ludvig, who hasn't played in the past two games, has been in 32 games this season and has scored five points (three goals, two assists) while averaging 11:46 of ice time per game.
