Biden has put out an advertisement encouraging people who support Nikki Haley to not vote for Trump, and saying they are welcome in his campaign

Biden’s campaign released a new digital ad on Friday asking Nikki Haley supporters to abandon former President Donald Trump in the general election.

President Joe Biden’s campaign released a new ad on Friday urging Nikki Haley supporters to abandon former President Donald Trump in the general election.

The former South Carolina governor dropped out of the Republican primary earlier this month after Trump defeated her in all but one of the Super Tuesday primary contests. Biden’s new ad is part of an effort to win over Republican voters who have become disillusioned with Trump.

During the primary, Trump went after Haley, labeling her as “birdbrain” and attacked her for receiving money from Democratic donors. Trump even went so far as to tell Haley donors In January that “from this moment forth” they would be “permanently barred from the MAGA camp” if they continued to support her. Haley has not yet endorsed a candidate in the upcoming presidential race.

The advertisement features a variety of clips showing Trump insulting Haley during his rallies, including one speech where he claimed he did not need her supporters to beat Biden.

“If you voted for Nikki Haley, Donald Trump doesn’t want your vote,” the ad says. “Save America. Join us.”

According to the Washington Post, the campaign will run the ad for three weeks across major battleground states. The spot is part of the campaign’s planned $30 million ad spending in the next six weeks.

After Haley dropped out of the race, Biden praised her for criticizing Trump and told her supporters that “there is a place for them in my campaign.”

“Nikki Haley was willing to speak the truth about Trump: about the chaos that always follows him, about his inability to see right from wrong, about his cowering before Vladimir Putin,” Biden said at the time. “Donald Trump made it clear he doesn’t want Nikki Haley’s supporters. I want to be clear: There is a place for them in my campaign.”
